Baseline requirements
Google Play currently accepts JPEG or 24-bit PNG screenshots without alpha. The minimum dimension is 320 px, the maximum dimension is 3840 px, and the longest dimension cannot exceed twice the shortest.
You can add up to eight screenshots for each supported device type. Device-specific requirements and recommendation eligibility have additional rules.
Recommended phone assets
For recommendation surfaces, Google currently recommends at least four app screenshots at a minimum 1080 px resolution, using 16:9 landscape at least 1920 × 1080 or 9:16 portrait at least 1080 × 1920. Verify this in the current official documentation before submission.
Content checks
Show actual app experience, avoid illegible text and misleading promotions, and make sure the first screenshots clearly establish the app's core value.
