Google Play currently requires a 1024 × 500 JPEG or 24-bit PNG feature graphic with no alpha. It is used across store and promotional surfaces.
Composition checks
Keep the focal point and key copy away from potential cutoff zones; avoid fine details, pure white or dark gray backgrounds that blend into store surfaces, duplicated app-icon branding, and unsupported promotional claims.
Accessibility
Add concise, context-specific alt text when uploading graphics in Play Console. Google's guidance recommends describing the important content in 140 characters or fewer.
