How to Prepare Visual Assets for an Android App

Organise source artwork, store assets, launcher resources, and release checks so visual updates stay accurate and repeatable.

Create a source-of-truth folder

Store editable masters, source screenshots, exported listing assets, approved copy, and release dates together. Name assets by purpose and version instead of relying on a folder of final-final files.

Separate production contexts

A Google Play listing icon, adaptive launcher icon, feature graphic, and screenshots have different jobs. Share brand elements where appropriate, but do not assume one raster image satisfies every context.

Build review into releases

Include visual asset checks in each release: compare against the shipped build, verify rights, test readability, check links and policy text, and use Play Console as the final submission reference.

Google Play requirements can change. Verify current details in the official Play Console preview-assets guidance and in your Play Console before publishing.
