Google Play Feature Graphic Guide

Design a focused 1024 × 500 feature graphic that supports your listing without misleading users or duplicating the app icon.

Use the correct asset

Google Play currently specifies a 1024 × 500 JPEG or 24-bit PNG feature graphic without alpha. It is used on multiple Google Play surfaces and can act as a preview-video cover when a video is present.

Use the official preview-assets guidance as the source of truth because store requirements and rendering surfaces can change.

Create a clear composition

Choose one central visual idea and protect the key focal point. Keep the app name, logo, primary message, and core UI away from cutoff zones and avoid fine details that disappear on phones.

Do not overload the artwork with a duplicate app icon, false controls, rankings, prices, or time-sensitive promotions. The graphic should extend the product story, while screenshots demonstrate actual use.

Export and inspect

Use the Feature Graphic Generator to test layout, copy, color, logo, and background combinations. Export the 1024 × 500 image, then independently confirm the downloaded dimensions and visual legibility.

Google Play requirements can change. Verify current details in the official Play Console preview-assets guidance and in your Play Console before publishing.
