Practical Guide

Practical guide to app store assets

Clear, consistent visuals help users understand an app quickly. This workflow gives independent developers, small teams, and designers a practical starting point before store submission.

How to prepare an app icon

  1. Start with a square source image of at least 1024×1024; never upscale an already compressed icon.
  2. Keep the subject away from edges and avoid fine text that disappears at small sizes.
  3. Use an opaque PNG for the iOS store icon and normally leave the outer shape square for the system mask.
  4. After downloading the ZIP, check legibility on a real home screen, light and dark backgrounds, and small notification sizes.

Google Play feature graphic essentials

A Google Play feature graphic uses a 1024×500 canvas and should be a JPEG or 24-bit PNG. It can appear in different placements or under interface overlays, so keep the composition simple and important copy away from the edges.

  • Keep the headline to one or two lines and maintain strong contrast against the background.
  • Avoid fake download buttons, rankings, prices, and promotional claims that quickly become outdated.
  • Make sure logos, screenshots, and hero artwork accurately represent the real app experience.

Turn screenshots into a connected story

Use the first screenshot to communicate the core value, then reveal features, data, and use cases in sequence. Consistent type, color, and device frames create a coherent brand story, while every screen should still make sense on its own.

FAQ

FAQ

Quick answers about image privacy, exports, and store requirements.

Are uploaded images sent to a server?

No. The current version processes images locally with the browser File API and Canvas. Refreshing or closing the page leaves no uploaded image on this server.

Why use a 1024×1024 icon source?

A large square source covers store and device sizes, and downscaling produces better results than enlarging a small file.

Can I drop the ZIP directly into a project?

The ZIP is organized by platform and common folders. Verify names and adaptive icon requirements against your current Xcode, Android Studio, and project configuration.

Will the Google Play feature graphic never be cropped?

The export is exactly 1024×500, but Google can present it differently across placements. Leave safe space for edge cropping and central overlays.

Can I use the output commercially?

You may use generated files commercially, but you must own or have permission to use every uploaded image, logo, font, and brand asset.

Does this guarantee store or AdSense approval?

No. No. Requirements and reviews change. This tool prepares base assets; always follow the latest platform policy and console guidance before publishing.
